Today is Deborah’s birthday!
Of course, that means she really celebrated the day yesterday, as they are ahead of us by 16 hours in PNG. Last night, we were able to Skype (typing messages) with her, and then we even saw just a brief bit of her face and heard her voice for a couple of minutes at the end of the evening. The picture below is of Faith sharing her latest purchase of a Build-A-Bear with Deborah. It was a very poor connection, so we did not really see or hear much on video, but it was great just the same. It always seems strange that as we Skype, Deborah is eating lunch and the rest of us are getting ready for bed. 🙂
Deborah is still in Wewak and has been busy preparing meals and doing many other things to help those who are learning the Bible stories this week. She is a bit tired after getting sick last week, but overall she seems to be doing well and has enjoyed being part of the training work that has happened on this trip. Please be in prayer for continued health and energy as she serves, and pray also for her regarding several decisions she must make about projects to be involved with while she is in PNG.
If you want to send birthday greetings to Deborah, I know she would absolutely love that! You can comment below, send her emails at deborah@breathofhope.net, or post to her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/deborah.s.miller.33. Just note that she is not able to download pictures from Facebook or the internet, so if you want to send a picture it must go to email only.
We miss Deborah so much, but we can see the great work that the Lord is doing in and through her service to Him in PNG this year. She is an amazing young lady with such a heart for the Lord and for making His name great among the nations, and we could not be more proud of her. What a blessing and encouragement she has been to the people around her both growing up and now as an adult in Papua New Guinea! Thank-you for continuing to be part of her journey with us and for helping make her feel special and loved even from the other side of the world.
Happiest of happy birthdays, Deborah! Love you tons!
