The eve of November first: Halloween. What are my family and I doing? Setting up trees, one for every window, just like always. I woke this morning to find a fully lit Christmas tree in my room, ready for ornaments to be put on the branches. The helper culprits were Anna and Faith. It’s sweet of my family to decorate for Christmas before I go to Papua New Guinea. Dad and Anna made a handy-dandy sign for the front yard explaining why we are decorating early, which received several positive comments and promises for prayer. If you’re visiting this site as a result of seeing the sign, thanks for stopping by. :]
Additionally, I recently learned that a member from my Sunday school class put together a raffle for a ribbon wreath she crafted herself. What a surprise it was to hear they had done this as a fundraiser for my trip! The class has been selling tickets throughout the church and even to their coworkers for the past several weeks, and we’re excited for the drawing tomorrow.
On a side note, Caleb and Ethan caught a zipity-quick, itty bitty snake in the den last night. Anna says, “Deborah’s going to live with snakes, but the snake tried coming to live with her A BIT prematurely.”
Seventeen days to go!
