A big surprise arrived last week: my visa! I wasn’t expecting to receive the visa for another half a month.
There is a neat website I came across called stepbible that has an option for reading the English Bible and the Tok Pisin Bible side by side. Here’s a picture of what the two translations look like.
People have been asking me more and more if I’m nervous about going to Papua New Guinea. Yeah, I’m nervous and I don’t know what to expect, but overall God has put His peace within me. I trust Him to take care of me, and He already is. I’ll be with family (which soothes my mom’s mind considerably), not only working with them but living with them, and flying with them. Since we have the visa and the Groshes found reasonable airline prices, we bought our tickets for November 17th. Forty-three more days y’all.
The amount of funding needed is being recalculated due to my visa’s expiration date ending a bit earlier than anticipated, so the current plan is for my stay to last ten months instead of twelve. With the budget being re-looked at, fifty-nine percent is raised at the least! Fifty-nine percent or more is already accounted for thanks to God’s providence and your generous giving.

Yay for Visas and airline tickets (that were purchased at a really great price, too)!
If you’re commenting below, please add your vote for or against us putting up a Christmas tree with Deborah before she leaves on November 17. (P.S. – It’s only about a week before we would normally start putting them up anyway…guess you can tell what my vote is!)
I am FOR putting the family Christmas tree up with Deborah. 😉
